Our Escorted Tour is a great way of experiencing Rally Finland whilst ensuring that you get to the very best of the spectacular high-speed action. Our experienced team will have meticulously planned the tour itinerary weeks beforehand after visiting the stages and hand-picking a selection of the best viewing areas available. We will visit many of the 'classic' Rally Finland stages using our agreements with local landowners & the Rally Organisers to access some fantastic viewing areas.
Please note that we had already Sold Out our initial two Tour offerings based in Jyvaskyla by the end of January 2017. Our current Escorted Tour on offer is based at the Hotel Keurusselka from Wednesday-Saturday, before joining our other tours at the Hotel Rantasipi for the final night (Sunday), ensuring Guests will be on hand to join in with all the post-rally happenings. As the Hotel Keurusselka is an hours drive due West of Jyvaskyla this Tour's itinerary may differ from the Jyvaskyla based tours, but there will still be plenty of action packed into the rally days!

After meeting with one of our Rally Travel Tour Guides at Helsinki airport the tour begins with a 3-4 hour bus transfer North to the rally area and our Hotel in the Rally HQ town of Jyvaskyla. Our Rally Travel Guides will keep Guests informed throughout the journey on the news & gossip from the build up to the rally, and a comfort stop for dinner is usually scheduled en-route.
Thursday is always an action packed opening day of the rally with a visit to the SHAKEDOWN Stage, a great opportunity to see the cars at speed several times over the same stage. The informal atmosphere at Shakedown is replicated in the WRC Service Area which we visit later in the morning for a couple of hours, a great opportunity to grab some photographs and that all-important 'Selfie' in a relaxed setting before the rally starts. There is usually also a chance to visit Rally HQ and soak up the atmosphere in Jyvaskyla as the tension began to rise before the start.
The opening stage of Rally Finland often throws up a surprise, and the Jyvaskyla 'Street Stage' in 2016 was one of the most spectacular of it's type.
When the rally starts properly on Friday morning it seems like the whole of Finland has got swept along with the excitement, particularly if the legendary Ouninpohja stage is featured.
We usually visit between 2 to 3 stages on this traditionally long Friday leg, and in the past we've even achieved 4 stages in the one day!
With us being based on the edge of Jyvaskyla it has been possible for Guests to visit the WRC Service Area on both Friday and Saturday evenings as well.
Saturday usually sees the rally heading to the South of Jyvaskyla and when we have visited the super-fast 'Surkee' Stage in the past we've been lucky enough to bump into an old friend of Rallytravel's - Mr Ari Vatanen (see pic with one of guests) who always takes time out to meet with us all.
Again, another 2 or 3 stages on the Saturday of the rally for us and we always aim to try and see the entire field through at one of our locations. Sometimes, there has also been the chance to see the Finnish 'National Rally' field through inbetween WRC runs as well.
In the evening we usually schedule our optional 'VIP Team Visits' to either the M-Sport or Hyundai WRC team service areas.
Rally Finland always chose a great iconic location for their PowerStage, and we head there on the final day of the rally for both runs through usually.
In 2016 the atmosphere at the Podium at the end of the stage was incredible as Kris Meeke and Craig Breen celebrated their astonishing performances with our Guests & many of their fellow countrymen!
After the chance to freshen up back at our hotel we run an optional transfer to the 'WRC Party Zone' in Jyvaskyla where Guests can take an evening meal and/or join in the legendary 'After Rally' parties and celebrations along the main street. If you're visiting Rally Finland the last thing you want to do is travel home on Sunday evening, believe us!
There is always plenty of swapping of stories on the final run back to Helsinki Airport on the Monday morning, relating to both the action on the stages and the post-rally celebrations the previous evening! Rally Travel Guides kept everyone informed of all the news and results from each day of the rally throughout the tour, with print-outs and daily running orders & where possible by broadcasting WRC Live Rally Radio on the bus in between stages!
